Description of Inlet Echo

I live on the west side of an inlet that leads north to empty into Cayuga Lake, so I watch the many changing values of the landscape over there every day. The trees in the foreground are now in the shadow of the hills on my side of the inlet with only the higher trees in the back receiving the rays of the setting sun. The deep shadows that emerge as the day grows later begin giving up their unusual, visual secrets which are sometimes mirrored in the water.
