Description of Perry City Road/print

I have titled this piece after the area where I was inspired to paint it – somewhere along Perry City Road out here in upstate New York. This title may not mean anything to anyone who hasn’t been out there but it has more meaning than say, “Methias III” or some other meaningless abstract, Greek reference as I see in so much contemporary art. This was one of the very first large (34″ x 46″) paintings to introduce a major play with paint, thinners and abstraction. So it holds a special place in my evolution as a painter.
